We have provided information that you will need prior to the beginning of your season. The best on-line reference for most of your soccer questions can be answered at www.mnyouthsoccer.org.

Initial Parent Team Meeting: Each team needs to have an initial/first meeting in which the coach can become acquainted with all of the parents. A team manager needs to be selected.

Uniforms: The club organizes the uniform purchase and will be distributed at the season kickoff picnic on April 26, 2008.

Team Manager Duties

It is the Team Manager's role to handle the administrative duties of the team and to be the focal point for communications between the parents and the coach.

General Responsibilities:

  • Provide a team roster with names, addresses, phone numbers and parent's names to all players.
  • Collect player photos, laminate MYSA player passes for each player.  Include an identification card attached to the ring in case passes are lost!
  • Provide printed practice and game schedules, and distribute any other communications as may be necessary during the season.
  • Register for District/State Tournaments.

Tournaments:

  • NEW PROCEDURE FOR REGISTERING FOR TOURNAMENTS:  Once you determine the tournament fees for each player, you need to collect payment by check payable to FLSA (Forest Lake Soccer Association).  Once you have collected all tournament fees in full, you must contact the Treasurer to turn the checks into her and get reimbursement.  Once you receive reimbursement you can then register for the tournaments your team has decided to do.
  • If paying for a tournament by credit card, please be sure to make a copy of the on-line registration receipt to turn in for reimbursement.

District-State Tournament Registration:  DEADLINE:  June 19, 2008, via website registration.  Failure to meet the deadline will result in your team not participating in the end of the season tournaments.

First Parent Meeting

  • Meeting should take place as soon as teams are formed.
  • Select a Team Manager
  • Collect a small photo for player passes.
  • Equipment needs (duffle bag, soccer shoes, soccer ball, shin guards, water bottle, mouth guard (optional) and uniform.  Emphasize to parents that every player needs to have their white uniform shirt at every game in case they are required to change uniform shirts in the event the other team has a uniform color close to ours, i.e. red.
  • Practice times and locations.
  • Tournaments and costs
